Northern New Hampshire

About the stations in Portland, I've never been particularly impressed with their news coverage. Typical smallish market newscasts, with a heavy focus on Portland and less coverage as you move farther out. At least the weathercasts are all inclusive.

Interestingly, the smoothest looking of the newscasts seems to be that of WCSH - but that generic "News Center" logo and moniker (used to include their sister in Bangor) seems very bush league. To me, ch. 13's newscasts seem ok and channel 8 is trying harder under Hearst Argyle, but has a long way to go. Just my random observations.

robbbc is absolutely right about the next 12 months; they should be bonus time for WMUR as there will be several contentious election campaigns in NH. More so than in any other New England state, New Hampshire will be a battleground. And, for News 9, that's good news indeed.
