Northwest News and KOMO

I'm back in Seattle after 12 years away, so I apologize for not being up on the latest in Seattle radio.

In 2023, when Lotus laid off all the reporters and editors, they had a content agreement in place with KOMO, and the anchors basically spent the whole day introducing edited packages from KOMO-TV.

Now, as I listen in, I'm not hearing any content from KOMO, but Northwest News has a handful of very young, presumably low wage, reporters who are mostly working from the studio.

It seems the content agreement with KOMO has come to an end and was not renewed. Really different not hearing any KOMO-TV reports on that station after all these years.

Denise Whitaker left KOMO television and moved to radio almost 1 year ago to the date. I listen to them occasionally in the AM and PM. Yes there are reporters who seem on the young side. The format might be vanilla, but sometimes vanilla is great.
