I'm shocked that Schreiber managed to pick up WAEO, whose tower was (and is as WJFW) over 250 miles from them. WJMN (also NBC at the time, but would switch to ABC in 1983) is "only" around 190 miles.

Also, if channel 5 in Calumet (WBKP) had signed on before 1996, it might have seen significant cable carriage along the Lake Superior shoreline. WBKP's tower is about 100 miles from Thunder Bay and closer to the small Lake Superior communities than WLUC.
