(in fact, I'm baking Van de Kamp's and boiling Mahatma right now...and that's prime chow, for me) but I just read that Phoenix Magazine cut loose Nikki Buchanan. That seems like a bad idea. I didn't realize that her show's not on KFYI anymore. Which also seems like a bad idea; does local weekend talk have to suck?
Like I said, I'm not a foodie, and yet I enjoyed listening to her show. She kept what could've been a culturally high-brow (and thus, exclusive) conversation accessible to a ramen-eater like myself. She brought a winning personality and a delightful laugh (indulge me...I'm weird about the laugh thing) to her show. You couldn't hardly mention a restaurant she hadn't been to. Is she on 3TV anymore?
Bummer. Vaya con Dios, Nikki. Go find a market that appreciates you. Meantime, we'll cram our weekends with financial planning, real estate, infomercial, ad infinitum, ad nauseam.
