Not everyone happy...

To some, Cable radio may be a Dinosaur, but to others it was their best source for great radio.

Link: R.I.P. Cable radio!

(Cable radio was eliminated for Rogers Customers in the province of Ontario on January 4th 2007)

I've read in the forums at http://www.digitalhome.ca/ that at least for some customers, a limited selection (not the full lineup) of "cable radio" has been moved to digital cable audio channels. Seeing as how digital audio channels take up hardly any room at all, and would count as "CanCon," I find it odd that Rogers wouldn't go ahead and move the entire existing lineup onto digital. It's still much less bandwidth than the analog FM cable radio consumed. And if they want to add XM or Sirius services, they will probably need to add some more CanCon.

I'm not sure how it compares to what Rogers Cable had, but Starchoice has several radio stations from across Canada. :)

Yes indeed.
I am just inches away from switching from Rogers to ExpressVu or StarChoice.
The current radio listening choices are so much better with those services.

The Cable radio lineup was better than the current digital box radio lineup.

Is it a coincidence that 99% of the choices are Rogers owned stations?
(On the Rogers Toronto box)

If I recall correctly, the London cable radio dial included a limited number of American stations, including WQLN-FM. No American stations are available on the new digital service.

I'm not sure about the London Cable radio lineup, but Rogers Toronto eliminated all the American stations a long time ago.
