Not feeling Live365's new look

Their site is http://shoutautomation.com/

It will still be about 2 months before I switch from Live365, so I'm not using them yet, but the demo looks (click on "Tour") really impressive.

It sure does look much better as a platform than Centova that is for sure... What is kind of a turn off from a provider standpoint is that it's a hosted solution so you have to pay them on top of your stream provider unless you go with them for both and their prices on streaming are not the best I have seen.
But what's a HUGE plus for me is the fact that it has SERVER-SIDE Relay support WHICH YOU CAN AUTOMATICALLY SCHEDULE & DO NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MANUALLY SWITCHING TO & FROM!!!!! Can't say that about Live365.

I say this because (For example) I relay a show on my political station that runs from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM ET but they insert news from Fox News Radio which is streamed over the web (I won't name the show or the site here because I think they know that streaming Fox News would likely land them in BIG TIME hot water without my having to name them). For this very reason, I go to another news service that's LEGIT for streaming on the web at the top of the hour. I also relay other shows as well.

As it stands now, I either have to manually log onto the Live365 website (A ROYAL pain the butt since the so-called "Upgrade"! ) & set it to RELAY. But even after I do that, there's NO GUARANTEE that the station will remain listed as Live365's "Nanocaster" software takes what can be best described as a "Snapshot" of the URL it's been told to relay & if it even THINKS the URL is either dead or is non-DMCA compliant, IT WILL DELIST YOU!!!!! NO ifs. NO ands. NO buts about it. This will eliminate that need.

I had originally signed up for LoudCaster (In fact, I even started broadcasting there as well) but it doesn't do what ShoutRadio does & I need to make the change NOW - Not some several weeks from now or whenever LoudCaster finally comes out of Beta.

Besides, I don't wanna subject my listeners to the same traumatic listening experience I go through on the Live365 website. It's just not worth it.
Would love it if they had a version that could be deployed on the local server, but it is an option and I am going to consider reselling their service to my customers because if it works as advertised it is very slick.
I'd settle for a simple standalone Desktop version of their web-based client.

JMO.....

Cheers :D

You can cover royalties for $9.95 per month at
http://www.swcast.net

Vern

Does anyone use the SWcast.net JPL Program? It sounds like a pretty fair deal considering the price. A station my size is about $16 per month which is just under $200 per year which is cheaper than if I were to do all the paperwork myself...

In answer to your question, I use SWcast.net JPL Program. If you are used to LIVE365, they aren't as flashy, but they get the job done. You want licensing, they provide licensing. Pretty simple.
