Not For Broadcast Network Material Accidentally Broadcast (Radio Edition)

i'll get this new take on accidental broadcasts of closed-circuit feeds started with a couple audio files i found on the internet

first the complete closed-circuit countdown for the Cavs radio network (including "This Is Cleveland looped 2 times, and interrupted/stoped in the second loop)

and last but not least is a UAB Basketball version of the ISP countdown without loop of tone and I.D. announcement. The music from the ISP closing billboards replaces the opening ISP theme. they still use tone until 30 seconds untill air.

if you remember any closed-circuit feeds sneaking on-air, put it and any audio here.

I can't cite chapter and verse for you, but several times since the advent of human-operator-free broadcasting, I've heard stations humming merrily along airing closed-circuit network feeds, or network programming battling with stuck automation running local ID's both at the same time. I dig Paul Harvey, but more than once went cross-eared trying to listen to him through a barrage of station drop-ins and sounders (something which happened on multiple Saturdays). Also unnerving, listening to sporting events when the annoucer pauses "10 seconds for station identification", with no such identification to follow.

I get even more concerned when there is a live board-oper and the ID doesn't fire. One afternoon, it happened three hours in a row, and I went to work to check on the board op. She was asleep.

But yes, always check that the sports network didn't change their broadcast time at the last minute and that your traffic department doesn't have a habit of typoing.

I know several networks (especially sports networks) have a knack for not sending an end-of-broadcast tone. I won't name names, but I do commend Learfield Sports for always doing it right. I've never caught them missing a tone, or really any other technical problem. Helpful folks in their engineering department too.

What are the chances ... I get in to work this morning, and the Learfield receiver is dead.

Note to self: don't ever praise ABC on this board, or you'll be S.O.L! :D
