Not happy with Sirius' Dance stations

I got Sirius a few weeks ago and sadly, their dance stations just dont do it for me. It seems they cover 2 extremes of Dance - Area 33 - which is all hard Trance, and Progressive, a bit 'raver' sounding at times... and The Beat - plays way too much Dance remixes of pop records and some odd recurrents - like dance remixes of the old Bloodhound Gang record (why??)...

Where are the dance records that are currently big all over the world, made by DANCE artists? They need to add more Axwell, Eric Prydz, Cicada, David Guetta, Kaskade, Cedric Garvais, etc... and more mixshows from the likes of Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo, etc

My main source for dance on Sirius is BBC Radio 1.

Who programs their dance stations?

Jay I have Sirius and the Beat plays whats big over here in the states. They play dance hits that are mostly on American Labels. I know some of the tracks you have mentioned are getting licensed or just have been licensed. The have been playing the David Guetta, and Kaskade. Axwell has also been in rotation. They have also extended their mixshow line up. They have a lot of US based Djs as well as international djs

Maybe they should add a station like Fresh FM in Amsterdam. Thats what I listen to on the internet ever since I discovered it.

My gym has XM and theyre playlist seems more up to date - they play better music than Sirius, imo. Does XM play more imports whereas Sirius stick to US dance labels? (which really only means 3 - Ultra, Robbins, and Nervous)

I get XM stations via my satellite TV service and they seem to have a decent selction of dance channels. There are so many different genres and sub-genres of dance that I suppose it's hard to please everyone.

Call me a traditionalist but I love a good old fashioned pop remix. Catchy hook. Diva wailing. Heaven.

I have a subscription to both XM and Sirius.

I have three XM radios, two at home and one in the car and I have a Sirius internet subscription. I normally listened to XM U-Pop 29, but since they flipped to all Christmas, I was missing all the imports so I got Sirius.

I havent checked out much on Sirius, except BBC 1, because I got hooked to that station the minute I turned it on. That Scottish girl that is on during the afternoon on BBC 1, is awesome.

XM 81 BPM is not bad for techno.

BBC Radio 1 is the worlds greatest station, imo. Not only do they cover every genre, but they cover every genre right... having it on Sirius is worth the subscription alone.

that Scottish dj on Radio 1, that I was thinking of, is Edith Bowman. I'm listening to her now. I can't get enough of her.

And the music is great. A bit of everything..Eric Prydz ft Pink Floyd, the new Chemical Romance tune, David Guetta, the Killers. One great song after another covering lots of genres.

This station is the best I've ever heard.

Their presenters are very knowledgeable, and if you ever miss one of the specialty shows you can always listen to it again online for a full week.

Listening to "the Beat" today and I heard the regular version of Black Eyed Peas "Dont Phunk with My Heart". If I wanted Pop, I would listen to a Pop station. The Beats a mess... Im wishing I got XM now... =(

Well, you can always listen to XM's BPM online for free. If you have the latest version of Winamp, simply go to the AOL Radio with XM section, or copy & Paste the following link into your Winamp:

It's a 64 K AAC stream, which means it's VERY high quality.
