Not Heard on KTCK

Now that its "official". What kind of on-air explaination do you think there will be? If P-1's recall, The Laddy came on and addressed the firing of Coop and there was a lot of talk on the Hardline that day and Mike and Greg voiced there extreme disappointment in the matter. There was also a lot of talk when Rocco was booted. What will happen now??? Despite what Mike says, will they come on and really give us the whole story?
Somehow, I doubt we will know the whole story and on the other side I hope Greggo ends up well and on 103.3(even if they have said 'no' for now)

PD

The day after Rocco was let go he called into Gordon Keith's rant. That was some good radio. Too bad The Ticket made sure no one has it on the net anymore, kinda like they killed hardliners.com

I'll say one thing for The Laddie, he stayed in his office after the Coop firing and the switchboard put through any calls of complaint from listeners.

The Wild Irish Laddie also had something the current managment lacks: Integrity. I met the Laddy many years ago post-HS and he gave me great advice on this business as a whole. IMHO, The Ticket and in particular, The Hardline, has become way overbloated for its own good. maybe trimming the fat (pardon me greggo) and getting rid of any deadweight will upright the station.

"..upright the station.." are you CRAZY... have you SEEN their numbers??!! I can name you TEN stations in this market that would DIE for those numbers.

I mean upright in the sense of product, we know about the ratings and marconi award. I just havent been that "enthused" to listen to the main drive shows (D&M/hardline) in awhile, ive always been a fan of Norm and his style of talking sport. I dont mind the schtick, but rein it in some and give me some more sports talk...

"rein it in and give me more sports..."

they used to say that about KVIL back in the day. " ... they need to play more music and talk less..." we always laughed when the "experts" said that....then the "experts" took over and did exactly that, played more music and talked less...and they now have what, a two share or so...

same deal.

Without betraying confidences, Steve, when did the ``experts'' come to the scene at KVIL? What were the circumstances that led to even considering a makeover of the product?

If the ratings and the award came with the current product, why change anything?

There is something to be said about the adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." The mistake with that sentiment is typically something gone unbroken is usually unattended as well. Feng shui for the radio anyone? It can help. ;D

Thank you veritas...when you let things fester and sit idle, its eventually going to go downhill, thats what has happened with The Hardline, with or without Greggo. When you start relying on guys like Corby Davidson to keep you afloat, theres larger problems at hand.
