Think KT'R walked away the winner with yesterday's protest march coverage? Maybe the day, but not the week as the immigration issue returns to KFYI for passionate debate, something seldom heard on KT'R. The Big 6-Twenty scored big time on their coverage, thanks to a staff at least three times the size of KFYI's. However the Men In Secret Underwear need someone who sounds more natural and conversational than Michael Dixon to anchor. His suck up to Mary Rose Wilcox probably drove away the last conservative listener KT'R has. And that wretched and way too loud traffic sounder every ten minutes was more annoying than the Amber Alert sounder. Give it a break (and especially on weekends)! Five-50 KFYI wisely stayed true to it's audience by allowing Rush & Hannity to hammer illegal immigration. Had they replaced them with local coverage, KFYI listeners would have thought the station sold them out by going all Si Se Puede. Crummey was great on the street and the pairing of Leibo and Gilberg at night was a first. Nurse Jeff and I thought Leibo was caught off guard by Gilberg as she was locked and loaded on the subject. KT'R won Monday, but Tuesday thru Friday belongs to KFYI.
