Not so "breaking news", actually

In the wake of the tragedy at the elementary school, I find that I'm thinking more about what will be the next breaking news story. So this morning on WGAR, during a commercial break, they break in with "breaking news". I sit up thinking, "Oh, oh, what happened now?"... only to hear the mundane report that the baseball team had signed some guy who I guess is a notable player. Hardly what I would call "breaking news" that I need to know right now, right this very instant.

The members of this board are so hard to please.

Either its

1) There is no local content on automated jukeboxes filled with voice tracking blah blah blah

or

2) The local stations provided information of local relevance, but it didn't matter to me much, so it was wrong.

The indians story may be the 3rd biggest sports story in Cleveland in the last five years, 1) Lebron leaving, 2) Browns being sold, and now 3) the Indians owner out of nowhere spends money they've never spent before.

Yes, breaking news.

If this news had happened a couple of days ago, I'd have been more worried.

"The Indians spent HOW MUCH?!?!...the Mayans must be right!"
