WIth maybe the most screwed up AM signal known to the free world, KKOL is unlistenable in most of it's COL. However, I tuned in online this morning to hear Mike Siegal...and NO MIKE. I guess the Salem budget cuts continue...not that anyone can listen to the station anyway outside of Tacoma. And let me just say, that Bloomberg radio makes watching Velvita cheese age in my refrigerator an exciting event.
 
Salem stations are unlistenable.....PERIOD.
 
I'd say crank 'er back up to 50KW....go ahead and generate the spark that will ignite the oil depot. No such thing as BAD P.R.! Besides...Tacoma is pretty much ALREADY known for explosions from random sparks so with this plan they can back order some more tourist post cards.
 
Had Salem been smart, they could have diplexed at 50kW into the 5 tower array that Clear Channel already built with KHHO there in Fife and avoided this whole situation. The site is already RF hardened from when KJR was there and plenty of distance away from oil terminals or refineries.

So, how'd that work for you Salem?

I didn't realize KJR is off that site. Where are they now? So is the whole array in Tac/Puy active or just a few towers actively used now?
