What about the thousands and thousands of skilled, talented and entertaining musicians whose music is never played on the radio because it doesn't fit the narrow paragidm of what "hit" songs are supposed to sound like? How about the talented and entertaining athletes who participate in sports that don't fit the narrow paradigm of that "sports" are supposed to be on the radio? When's the last time you heard a kinK-by-kick of a soccer match? When's the last time that radio covered the Pro Bowlers Tour?
Just because you don't like the way news/talk sounds doesn't mean that the suits who run things have determined that they'll make more profit with things the way they are than they'd make if they changed things so a few radio geeks would like them better. If you don't like the way news/talk sounds today, don't listen to it. And if enough people do the same thing, then the suits will change it. And only then.
