Not too many businesses do this

Not too many businesses do what is occasionally done in broadcasting, and that is the possibility of re-hiring someone after they had been let go. Look at Brian, of Brian and Joe morning radio fame. They were let go uncerimoniously from 106.5 FM by Clear Channel. Brian is now one-half of the morning drive team on WGAR 99.5 FM, another C.C. station. So, it would appear to me that if a person is let go from a broadcast entity, he/she might be wise to not trash-talk the station/company. Why burn all of your bridges when you might be a candidate for re-hire later? You never know what the future holds.
