Nothwest Arkansas Radio

Any word on any changes in Northwest Arkansas? Radio is real bland here now. Clear Channel and Cumulus programing sucks!!! no creativity. Thoughts?

from what i hear, b98 in fort smith is hot a/c now - what's up with that and where are the LIVE people? who chased them off, changed the logo and the format?

fred is probably pointing and laughing.

just an observation.... ;)

I thought the question was about radio in Northwest Arkansas. And while it looklike Northwest Arkansas on a map, it ain't Northwest Arkansas.

from little rock, it's north and west. ...or is that a hair i see splitting?

good enough to be NW arkansas, but what do i know. i'm not a geographer. is that even a word - "geographer"? i figure since F.S. and Fayetteburg share TV signals, they're both in NW AR. there doesn't seem to be a 'western arkansas'...anything...here.

if the stick is actually in oklahoma, would that be "eastern central oklahoma" or do i need to find the "far southwest missouri" board to talk about the stations over the state line north of fayetteville? just askin'.

;)

With the exception of KFSM (channel 5) they don't really 'share' TeeVee signals. Until recently, ABC and NBC had separate stations for each area--Northwest Arkansas and The River Valley. For the record, if you watch TV here, you have cable or satellite because reception stinks. As for radio stations, the only station in either market that has a presence in both is KEZA-FM and they have a huge signal.

Radio here in NW arkansas/Fayetteville Metro technically..i think...is in a horrible state. The fight is for revenue and the stations are at a real point of dismay. You have your heritage stations with one of the two that run the mkt CC & Cumulus and a weaker version at the other ie. Magic 107.9 v Y949, Power v "Hot Mix" and the saddest battle of all KIX v SAM 98. COMPLACENCY is the word. winners know they are winning and losers are hiring and firing after each book so they can justify why their numbers suck. There is a new PD at Mix that has made no changes yet and the PD at Power can't decide if he wants to be Rhythmic, AC, or AAA and SAM is just a good old piece of garbage! As of this week we are moved from mkt 141 to 135 however, there is a lack of capability for PD's and OM's to keep up with technology. terristrial radio is dying because people just show up to work and collect their paychecks. I hope someone in the business cares enough to challenge this! more to come!
