Isn't WFXT considered a "significantly viewed" station in Bristol County, which should allow full programming, including network programming, to be shown? If not, then WNAC could insist on blacking out FOX programming. This should not become a trend for WBZ, WCVB, and WHDH, because I'm sure these stations are significantly viewed, and WSBK should be safe since it is independent and is a sister station of both WBZ and Providence's WLWC, channel 28, the CW affiliate. The blackout of WFXT by WNAC is just another example of television broadcasters' greed to get each and every viewer in the ratings. Bristol County is considered a Providence/New Bedford market area, and in fact, DirecTV offers just the Providence stations and no Boston stations in their local package. However, I'm sure most people who live there, probably watch both the Boston and Providence stations with little preference to either market. Since Bristol County is so close to Boston, there should probably be an exemption to cable viewers to carry both markets, but the screwy FCC rules geared towards the greedy broadcasters, would never give the viewer the advantage...would they?
