Noticed this on the Houston board

DAMN! I just talked to Brent yesterday via email, and not a word was said about this. Let me tell you guys something...Brent is a CLASS ACT and was a joy to work for at BizRadio. He often was the only Voice of Reason between the Dallas operation and an impulsive, uncompromising owner. He was perhaps the only true radio person within that operation, and they depended heavily on him to figure out all the nuts and bolts on every level. If you've kept up with Brent's blog over time, you know he's battled cancer and has had a LOT of ups and downs, way more than any 40-something should ever expect to deal with...and he's worked many times when he was too ill, and I can recall many drives he made back and forth between Houston and Dallas when he was in no physical shape to do it...just to keep the Dallas operation running.

This is truly BizRadio's loss, and Brent will surely land on his feet. I wish him all the best.

Well said, Mike. Brent Clanton worked for me when he was just a youngster, and if I were in a position now to hire him I'd do it again, without a second thought. He's on my short list of truly nice guys in the business: talented, professional and fair.

Brent Clanton is "Bizradio".HE NOT DAN F.OR HIS "MAID" made the Bizradio Network. Brent is a "Will Rogers " of the 21st century but in reverse, once you met him, you liked him a lot!! I hope ( I know a pipe dream) that advertisers on Bizradio pull out, and allow their contracts expire, and that word spreads out so they may never ever have a single advertiser left. We can dream cant we? Any radio station and network would do well to hire Brent, even Public Relations Firms. He is that good!!
I hope Shivaugn, ED "promotion through asassination",Dan F.The Pluto of Radio"and his His "Manila Monster" find that failure is a close relative of theirs, without TRUE leadership. Maybe Shivaugn will have a "brainstorm".
Brent Clanton, a true orignal, well like, well respected, humble, and one of the finest broadcasters in the state of Texas. I noticed Matt Cox left the sales mgr in Dallas "Left on his own". I guess he went to work for a respected company.

Just to echo the sentiments already expressed: Brent Clanton is a prince of a guy and, and far as I am concerned, the only true radio professional in the whole Biz Radio bunch. Frishberg and his wife have pulled some really dumb blunders in the last 4 years, terminating Brent Clanton has to be at the top of the list. As Julia Roberts said in Pretty Woman, "Big mistake. BIG mistake!"

Anyone want to predict how long BizRadio stays alive without Brent Clanton? I say not relatively long. Maybe a year.

Considering they blew it with the relocation of the Belton station to Royce City, can not find studios or a bldg for their 1110 in DFW for Dan's "coffee shop, stock trading school and the " Manila Monster's dungeon" I give it until Inauguration day 2009. Maybe Shivaugn will have a brainstorm and fix it or Ed could stab yet another in the back and help Dan save some $$ with another position elimination. If Fox News was smart they would remove Dan from their morning news business feature and put him on "Fox Kids" Of course that might be considered child abuse.
