Rafael "Rafy" Jiménez passed away Saturday September 26 morning at his home in Las Piedras. He was 79.

For many, myself included, Rafy was the Voice of Notiuno. Listening to him you wouldn't have known that he was in his later 70's. He sounded much younger.

Rafy was at WUNO when I was named general manager in 1970. He did everything... production, traffic, voiceovers and still had time to offer to get me lunch.

When you think of how often people jump from one station to another today, a person who spends over 40 years at a single station is unique. And Rafy was that... a unique and dedicated radio person. I will remember him.
