I know the 2nd group is persons 25-54, but the Ticket can't crack the top 15 in that demo?? That has to be troubling for them, right?

"6+"? What, do they sew the PPM's into the little tyke's shoes or Tickle Me Elmo or something? (Or maybe they figure that the 6-11 yr old 'Generation Z' kids will generate a radio renaissance and ignore modern technology, unlike their 12+ counterparts?)

Ron and Co. have to be very pleased...even a broad list like this "6+" with Platinum jumping up 30 or 40 notches (over Twister's pitiful showings) in such a short time to come in at #11?

Indeed, where IS The Ticket? And Live 105? And KRLD?

I know the 6+ thing is weird and alot of us here in Houston have been fighting it but thats the way the new PPM works. After being here and seeing the results month after month in Houston it seems the real flaw is not the age groups but the fact that the family that receives their monitors to wear gets to keep them for a long time not just six weeks but over a year. That means that what you get in ratings from the very first PPM is not gonna change much no matter what you giveaway, how much music you play, etc. The PPM is not perfect although it is a good idea. What needs to happen is use these monitors but change up the people who wear them alot more often.

I disagree with the need to rotate the PPM devices more frequently. The PPM system will give more consistent data over a longer period of time. I would much rather see more listeners getting those devices.

But nobody bought or sold based on 12+ ratings with diarys, highly doubtful that any advertiser is going to buy based on 6+ ratings in the PPM world. So I would think that Ron et al can't be happy that they're nowhere in the top 15 in the money 25-54 demo.

And speaking of teh demos that count, in their key demo, The Ticket is 5th Men 25-54, KLLI is 16th Men 25-54 and KRLD is 30th Men 25-54. I'll let you do the math where that probably puts those stations A25-54.

They are 21st in 25-54 and 4th in 55+.

And THAT is a no need to exist. No money 55+ and the "plus" is very old. While to some Twister might have been meaningless, but it made a difference 18-49 and combined with KSCS was an attractive combo. Platinum is a folly, ego decision by people who know neither Dallas nor radio in the 21st century... and Twister in people meter world would have done a lot better. Platinum might even get some ratings... but they will never make money as Twister did.

Is KLLI still #1 in their target demo from 3p - 7p? ???
Depends what they claim their target demo is.

If it's Men 25-54***, they're not number 1, haven't been number 1 in a long time, and they're on a path to not get back to #1 anytime soon. Currently they are tied for 6th men 25-54.

***They could be claiming their target demo was M18-34, or 25-34 or 18-49, or 25-44 and there may be some way to slice and dice the stats to make them #1 'in their demo'. The problem with that is that if you're number 1 in a demo that advertisers don't pay attention to, you're not going to make near as much money as being #1 in a demo they do pay attention to, like A or M25-54.

And if you want to see something funny, check out KLLI's M25-54 numbers. Morning drive, top 10, afternoon drive, top 10. Middays? Not even in the top 20....

Links? Anything? I hate it when people say "you should check out this website or stats" and don't give links to sources

and jeffdfw, KLLI hasn't been number 1 in any category that I know of...I don't know where you get this "still" from

Not sure about the Ticket and their adult numbers, but Dunham and Miller were #1 in morning drive in M 25-54, by a pretty large margin. I would guess the station is happy with that, since that's the only demo they seem to care about. I think the other shows were all in the top 5 as well, so I'm not sure PPM is hurting the Ticket.

The Wolf dropped from 2 to 5..... Hmmmm..... Interesting.
