The thing is, eventually this version of KGO will likely bill more than the news/talk format it replaced.
Plus, possibly lower overhead/expenses.
That is the real scoreboard: revenue produced.

They obviously knew that would happen, but they are looking entirely for non-traditional revenue that is based on special interests, not ratings.

Again, for the 57th time: for two decades, the #1 biller in New York City never got above 15th in 12+ ratings.

How do you even know if it's the lowest-rated AM when KTRB or KKSF is not even listed in the ratings?

I can name a dozen or more stations in LA that get 0 ratings yet are very profitable...

Noting that San Francisco continues to be one of the poorest markets for country music in America, although KBAY seems to have made a seamless transition to being the station of choice for San Jose country listeners, despite the predictions of some here that it would fail because the familiar voices of its predecessor in the format were gone.

I'd say it is.

A.) It's KNBR that they simulcast on 104.5, not KGO.
B.) KNBR's main competitor is on FM, which KNBR is handily beating.
C.) KNBR has rights to the Giants and the 49ers.

All reasons to continue having KNBR on 104.5. I also doubt Cumulus will buy in the market based on their financial situation.
