Just a few random TV related events that happened on November 29. Discuss or comment as you please……

1923: Journalist Frank Reynolds is born in East Chicago, Indiana.

1927: Sportscaster Vin Scully is born in The Bronx, New York.

1948: KOB-TV (channel 4) begins broadcasting in Albuquerque, New Mexico (the first TV station in that state).

1949: Comedian Garry Shandling (It's Garry Shandling's Show, The Larry Sanders Show) is born in Chicago.

1953: WSIX-TV (channel 8, later WNGE-TV on channel 2, now WKRN-TV) signs on in Nashville, Tennessee.

1955: Comedian/actor/game show host Howie Mandel (St. Elsewhere, Deal or No Deal) is born in Toronto, Ontario.

1971: Actress Gena Lee Nolin (Baywatch) is born in Duluth, Minnesota.

1985: Voice actor Bill Scott (Rocky & Bullwinkle) dies in Tujunga, California, aged 65.

1999: Game show host Gene Rayburn (The Match Game) dies in Gloucester, Massachusetts, aged 81.

2005: Actress Wendie Jo Sperber (Bosom Buddies) dies in Sherman Oaks, California, aged 47.

(Just a little featurette I hope to do as time permits. It’s an entirely random selection based on a quick Net search, and is not meant to be comprehensive. So, don’t post nasty messages about “you forgot THIS” or “how could you not mention THAT?” Do so, and I’ll just take my keyboard and go home…..) ;)

At the time of his passing, Bill Scott was the voice of Moosel on the short-lived Disney cartoon series "The Wuzzles" (13 episodes--CBS 1985-86, then reruns on ABC 1986-87).

I would trust IMDB more only because the general public ( the fans ) can't control the info there unlike Wikipedia. You may be surprised at knowing what some fans do in order to "protect" the stars including changing one's age or even denying something embarrising even if such things can be found elsewhere such as in books.
