November PPM

Wow is right

Ahead of WEEI, WRKO, WTTK, let's see if it is sustainable or just a fluke.

With the new WGBH format it could very easily go down

Kiss with another 8+ share. Seriously, I hate to yell but, WHEN THE HECK WILL SOMEONE FLIP TO A CHR/RHYTHMIC FORMAT TO TAKE ON THE 2 HEADED MONSTER THAT IS CLEAR CHANNEL (Kiss & Jam'n)!?!!?

I could see WTTK being a worthy contender for a flip, as they are doing poorly for the amount of money it costs them in payroll. Think Mike/Jack format done for Churban.

I don't think too many radio companies these days would take a station that is in the top 13 and flip it.
The outlay for promotion and advertising would be huge, and it would take years, if ever to recoup it.

the drop in the PPM from 13th to 14th place 93.7 vs 96.9 is half a point but 400,000 listeners in the cume.
The problem is the privately held GM doesn't have to answer to shareholders, and is willing to fly the plane all the way to the site of the crash rather than bail out.

CBS has gambled with a flipping 98.5 to sports. The flip and moving of Mix was a good move IMHO, because God knows WBCN ( with all due respect for the dead) was never going to come off of the life support it was on since Stern went to Sirius, and I don't care who they put there, nobody was going to save that station.

CBS figured it was easier to go against WEEI AM, than go against 94.5 and Kiss108. The path of least resistance, plus they already had Bruins and Pats under contract.

So Greater Media has TTK, CBS has nothing to flip, Entercom supposedly bills well with 93.7 and it costs them nothing for payroll, Same with WBOS, decent ratings, rumor has it great billing.

WCRB? well Nassau was bleeding so much red ink, they couldn't support the roll out, plus the signal wasn't all that great where they would have had to go to get listeners.

I think outside of 96.9, everyone else is better off riding out the storm in the safe harbor they have.

96.9 would have nothing to loose

and since when is WBUR owned by Clear Channel?

I'm assuming thats a typo on Radio-Online's part?

It's now correct (Boston University) on the grid posted here on Radio-Info under Ratings...
