P18-34 (top 10):
1. KWID
2. KISF
3t. KVGS
3t. KMXB
5. KLUC
6t. KVEG
6t. KSNE
6t. KQRT
9. KXTE
10t. KRGT
10t. KFRH

Notes and thoughts:

KKLZ had such a ridiculous lead over the #2 station P25-54. Nearly 2 and a half shares. Last month they were #1 as well, but less than a share lead. It will be interesting to see what happens in the Dec book, with partial Christmas music on Sunny.

We have a Spanish station back in the top 5 P25-54 and they continue to dominate the younger demos.

KVGS and KMXB are tied for #1 English P18-34 as KMXB was up a little this month. This is their annual bump from their Bite of Las Vegas event.

Stations that are struggling this book: KVEG, Party, KXNT, both Country stations

Stations that are hot this book: KKLZ, KSNE, KVGS, KWID

KXNT is struggling? ...in what sense? ...and what does that make stations like KDOX or KMZQ-AM - on life support!?!

In the sense that they basically just split the audience they had one station to 2. They messed up both signals. I think they expected much more from KXNT-FM/AM, which is probably why the GM was recently fired (someone had to take the fall). Arbitron will not combine the shares on both the AM and FM as they are not 100% simulcast. Not to mention, they blew up Jack-FM which has decent numbers and low overhead. In general, News/Talk is a struggling format in Las Vegas which lends the question: Why use a 100,000 watt FM for News/Talk? If you can answer that question, then you're smarter than me. I can understand why Lotus did what they did (a low power FM signal). But then again, Lotus decisions are made on a local level instead of a New York City skyscraper.
