November was a great month for Country. KWNR was #1 for the month due to a huge boost in TSL. COYOTE was above their normal range as well.

Even if they were #4 in the trend, I still predict SUNNY will be #1 25-54 for the Fall book due to how big their Christmas music December will be. LA NUEVA has an outside chance of being #1 because they will be dropping off an unusually soft September. MIX will be dropping off a huge September so I would be surprised if they can maintain #1.

FRESH didn't have a good November but it looks like they shaved off some share away from the two stations they are attacking..SUNNY and MIX.

KKLZ had their worst month since switching to classic hits. I'm burned on most of their regular playlist, but I want that station to succeed enough so they stick with the format...just so I can still listen to American Top 40-The 70s.That has to be one of the most enjoyable shows I have ever heard on the radio.

With all the new formats, one station we never think about or discuss any more is JACK..yet KKJJ was top 5 for the month and is beating all the newer formats such as FRESH, KKLZ, and PARTY.

Speaking of PARTY, it will probably never happen but I would personally love it if they would move in more of a Mega/Jammin' oldies direction. I wonder how long Whoppi will be doing mornings? I can't even imagine her doing the show a year from now, but you never know.

Terrible month for rock, especially KOMP. I think this was just a case of one of those strange flukey
things that can happen in any individual month. Speaking of which, just as I had predicted the OASIS did rebound in November after two fluke super low months in a row.

Another one of my predictons came true. A few months ago I guessed that during footall season ESPN RADIO 920 would be the #1 AM station 25-54. Well not only were they the #1 AM in November, KBAD beat several FM stations including KKLZ, FRESH, EXTREME, PARTY, and their own sister station KOMP. Of course this could be one of those individual month flukes. Still it's good to see a station with lot's of local programming do well.

Since everyone on here loves to talk about K-DAWN, they had a good month in both afternoons with Michael Savage as well as evenings. A good portion of the nightly talk war is now two advice shows. Tape delayed Dr Laura on KXNT Vs Roy Masters on KDWN. They both did OK, but I found it interesting that Masters won for the month of November. Laura's show is more mainstream while Master's is more thought provoking. they both have been known to scold their callers, but Roy sounds like he has gotten kinder through the years. Other than that, Masters sounds exactly like he did 30 years ago...he is still really sharp. I am happy he is still on the radio.

When KXNT announced their new lineup, Jack mentioned on the air that Dr Laura was an alternative to Delilah. I thought that was kind of funny because they have such different styles. Deliah is sugary sweet while Dr Laura yells at many of her callers (and has a right to IMO). Well it's probably a coincidence but Delilah on SUNNY has trended down since Dr Laura has been on at night, especially in November.

Speaking of nightly advice shows. There is a Spanish language sex/relationship show that is huge on RECUERDO. It is #2 at night and was #1 25-54 in Novemeber, by far the highest daypart for KRGT.

Kinder through the years? No way - not when he refuses to acknowledge that homosexuality is biological. Roy is anti-scientific progress. Roy is homophobic, anti-women, telling men to "put women in their place." That's from the 1800's. Any station PD who carries Roy is fostering viewpoints from the Middle Ages, when religious viewpoints were more valued than scientific discoveries.

If KDWN REALLY needs money from informercials 9pm+ (I doubt it), then there are plenty of other infomercials that will pay stations who need the money. Not to mention that that entire TRN (talk radio network) board has the extraordinary nerve to syndicate the angry, hateful, homophobic, Musliim-bashing Michael A. Weiner-Savage, who is now suing CAIR.
If KDWN wants to raise ratings, they should REplace the aging Roy with the socially liberal Dr. Joy Brown.

Has anyone heard when, or even if, you guys in "The City of LOST WAGES, NV" will be getting the PPM's?

Test data Jan 2010, currency March, 2010.

With KWNR's numbers, firing Mitch Kelly doesn't seem to be ratings-related.

Has having the number one talk show host helped KDWN in the morning? Is their AM news block beginning to find an audience? Or has everyone switched to Doug Basham on KLAV?

If you drop the "3" then "13" becomes the number "1" . Maybe Jack follows Louie Farakan's numerology? "We were number 32, now we are number one,"

KXNT never claimed to be the #1 overall station, just the #1 talk station..which they are,

In Mitch's final trend KWNR was #3 25-54 in the morning. Mark and Mitch were #1 English language for the month of November. KISF and KWID were the top 2 overall in the morning.

I would say no KDWNs morning news block is not finding an audience yet. They are #21 25-54, a little higher in upper demos. KXNT is by far the highest rated talk station in AM drive..#6 25-54, however they will be losing a HUGE September, possibly the best month they ever had. KLAV does not show up at all. They have such electic and varied programming with their brokered shows that it would be near impossible for them to pull numbers, not that they care one way or another.

sounds like you heard basham's show on friday with the Neumeralogist.

yes listeners are switching to basham with advertisements running in the RJ, City Life, and Basham is now the liberal political colomnist for the magazine "Strip," with a circulation of 150,000 nationwide

heidi and alan - watch out - your numbers went DOWN before when basham was moved to KDWN am drive in '03

if the KDWN morning news is that low in the ratings (above post), they should just drop it in favor of Basham/Cornell

Just one question..... Is ANYONE listening to "Area"? I guess not!

When Duncan was hired as PD 6 months ago I incorrectly thought they would flip formats, maybe to CHR/Pop. I am surprised they are sticking with ALT for so long.

Their signal does suck but they did have some ratings when they were Urban AC.

Duncan Payton is another "washed up, radio has been" who has managed to worm his way into a radio job in Las Vegas. I personally know of 3 people who have applied for "advertised" positions at Area. They have not even gotten a courtesy "thanks but no thanks" letter from Payton. Ya I know, He's busy, stamps cost too much, they are waiting for new letterhead, nobody sends out letters etc, etc etc..

Or.. He's just affraid to hire anyone that He preceives as a threat or He knows they pay so bad, only "no talents" like Him would want to work there.

The station sounds bad both programming wise and signal wise.

New Jack fm smart ass lines heard today....

Jack fm...The #1 station that plays what we want!

Jack fm the best sounding station with the worst ratings.

Jack fm...Less Mark and Mercedes in the Morning!

LOL Funny!
