It appears that pre/post election talk helped WPRO-AM (WHJJ Flat), the Pats & Hotstove Sox & Celtic talk helped WEEI FM & WBZ FM.
The Christmas Music did nothing for WSNE with starting it so early, they are down .2.
The big winner appears to be B101 with picking up some SNE and some Lite people (down a point) presumably because of the Christmas flips. Pro-FM is pretty flat and CTK, HJY & Hot down about 1/2 a point.
Thoughts?
 
So according to this every station that flipped to Christmas music is down? That's interesting. Makes me wonder if they will change their strategy next year. Doubtful.

By the way congratulations Ted on your 1,000th post. You only have a fifth as much time on your hands as I do. LOL
I'm shooting for 5,000 before I blow out of this place for a while. I'll be spending a whole less time here in the coming year. It's fun, but it's just not productive. It's time to step away. So now you have another reason to celebrate. ;-)

You have said that before, it didnt last that long then, so why should we believe you now?!

Anywho, back to the hijacked subject...SNE definitely tied to switching over too early, seeing as Lite didn't do it until 2 weeks later, I wonder how much they would have fallen....the problem is with the December ratings, listeners would be expected to be listening to the season music, so a true reckoning (unless there is more pronounced degradation of the numbers for Lite & SNE) may not be in the offing as we have wished. It will be fun to see where the numbers go as Arbitron still tries to get the meters into the hands of the people they need to in order to get the samples correct....

No No No.... I am the one who is confused. I have a love/hate relationship with this place and I have a serious addiction to coming here. I'm clearly a mental case. I'm not so delusional to think my behavior is normal. I know that it's not. Do you realize I go to therapy sessions twice a month? Obviosuly I don't even believe that I'm normal. Otherwise I wouldn't go. I've got issues. So when you see me say that I'm leaving, that is my mind on a good day. I'm thinking clearly today. These are the types of days when I'm being honest with myself and realizing that posting things here non stop is not healthy. It's kind of nutty. Wacky. Way out there. I fully realize this. The days when I return and you see me picking on Tanya Cruise or Paul and Al, That just means that I am having an anxiety filled day and I'm attempting to let off some steam in the hope that it will somehow make me feel better. But I've realized that it never does.

So starting in the new year you are going to see a whole lot less of me here. You don't have to believe me, But just watch and see. Lots of things are going to change. The reason for this is so I can improve my life. Step #1 is to stop wasting so much time on this nonsense. I'm even contemplating getting rid of my facebook and Myspace accounts. There is just to much opportunity to waste time every day in front of this computer. It's time to start doing something constructive. Next December I don't want to look back on another year gone and have to say.... WOW, look at how I accomplished a bunch of nothing again. Know what I mean? Some of you are in the same boat as me. Wasting all your time in front of this screen instead of living your life. So don't goof on me to much for what I just said.

Anyway..... where were we? Oh yeah, Ratings. I haven't checked on the November numbers. I'll go look later. Arbitron never called me like they said they would. I forgot to give them my new phone number. Oh well. No big deal. I don't really care to be part of their survey anyway. I did it last time because I had a book in front of me and I had nothing else to do. It's not important to me though. Besides.. I thought the people meter was supposed to phase out all other ways of measuring ratings. I must have misunderstood.

Oh I think you'll survive. If you want me to stay you may have to duke it out with those that would love to see me go. Good Luck. I'll still be around. Just a bit less. With my extra time I'll now get to spend a few extra nights each week having dinner with Mama Bristolini. By the way... she sends you her love. ;D
