Now 92.3 Playing Swedish House Mafia And More

Looks like 92.3 Now is playing more Dance nowadays, especially during nights.
Swedish House Mafia's "Save The World" has been getting some airplay (also in medium rotation on Hot 107.9 Syracuse). Alexandra Stan's "Mr. Saxo Beat" was recently added (big hit at Mix 107.9 Mcallen) as well as Afrojack's "Take Over Control", which is big right now at Kiss Chicago and Hot 95.7 Houston, and getting some decent airplay at Y-100 Miami and KIIS-FM L.A.

Yeah the Rio Grande Valley has been very dance friendly for a while. I remember even a few years ago, one of the biggest songs on B104 was Frederico Franchi - Cream and they also played Nicola Fassano - 75 Street Brazil. El Paso's XHTO is also fairly dance friendly.

KTFM/San Antonio plays around with dance tracks. They still play Deadmau5 - Ghosts N Stuff, the Downtown London remix of Adele - Rolling in the Deep, and I've heard Afrojack - "Take Over Control" a couple of times outside of specialty shows.

I'm not quite sure how big Afrojack is right now on Kiss Chicago (I checked their playlist, but nothing in the last 24 hours), but it has gotten tons of play on B96 over the past SEVERAL weeks.

Things are looking up over here with 92.3 Now :) . A lot of top 40 has been on the dance end as of late (loving LMFAO's new track) and with that, the core aspect is slowly but surely getting incorporated in,

What I would like to see down the road, along with things that have been/continually being incorporated are aspects of the electronic DJ culture mixed in somehow (a la Guetta, Bob Sinclar, Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, etc.) That has been on the rise as well (considering they added a 3rd day of "Electric Zoo" here and it SOLD OUT. Even Live Nation is starting to recognize the EDM side of things with their "Identity" concerts (2 in the New York area).

I think things are looking great. It's just a matter of convincing the hardcore fans to accept things like this so that musically, things can continue to grow. And that's a lot harder than it seems. But we'll try :)

Afrojack's "Take Over Control" is getting a lot of spins at KDDB/Honolulu, and they have become more Dance-friendly these days.

I would occasionally spend the night in a friends house in Ocean County, and with a bonus of picking up Z88.9, I have to give my props to B98.5 (WBBO) one saturday morning. In between their "best of pork roll and eggs" morning show, strero love, chris brown's beautiful people, afrojack, a remix of rolling in the deep, and j-lo's on the floor all within a half hour.

Both sampled by Pitbul. Love him or Hate him, he helped bridge the gap.

It's a rare moment for us Perry, but I agree :)

Now-FM in NYC has created a Dance category in their rotation. 5 or 6 songs that will be played during nights. My suggestion is to make sure the Tri-State are knows about it because if they see a spike in listeners during that time it can only mean good things for all day. ;)

This is a test, so lets hope for positive results.

I'll spread the word :)

Last fall they played Stereo Love and We No Speak Americano in power rotation (about every hour). Summer of 2009 they played Feel Your Love and Infinity in power rotation. I hope this summer they play Mr Saxobeat in power rotation.

I would love it if Now FM sounds more like Party FM or Wild 102.7. I'd really love it if their HD2 was a dance format, like Baltimore's Mix 106.5-HD2 (I would then spend a few hundred bucks to install an HD radio in my car if that happened). I like that almost every song on 92.3 has a beat. Perhaps Now could start by playing more pop remixes in regular rotation or a daily 5PM mixshow. Now FM has to be more than just Z100 sped up 2% without Elvis and Ryan.
