Earlier today, they played the Des'ree song "You Gotta Be" and the song was tagged by an artist pronounced with the typical pronunciation of the name "Desiree" as opposed to how the artist's name is pronounced.

If you're 45 and listening to AC music, you've given up on life anyway!!!!

I'm about to turn 44 and I don't get the idea behind AC stations. All they do is play the same songs that i was burned out on 20-30 years ago, so why do I need to hear the same OLD stuff that radio made me hate to begin with?

Hence the reason there are different stations for different tastes. Not everyone feels the same way about the music. For those that don't like it, there are other places to go, for those that do, um, NOW there are two.

Grew up in South Jersey...back visiting for a few days and evidently picked a good time! As on who is Moyes-schooled, place no bets against B101 unless and until they've lost. They're playing defense perfectly. I spent many years watching my competition beat their heads against the wall trying to beat my station when they didn't understand the real rules. It's not about best music or most music or innovation. It's not about firing weapons that reach no target because the audience doesn't believe the claims the attacker is making. Remember one of the 22 immutable laws of marketing...better to be FIRST than BEST.

Sorry I gotta go back west tomorrow! Wish I could hang around a few weeks to watch this thing! Will there ever be talents on 97.5?

Why do these stations even bother changing over to copycat formats when stations like WJJZ had a market all to themselves?
Sounds like more corporate logic to me :

Half of a 6 share is more than all of a 1 share. Seems pretty simple math to me.

??? this statement leaves me speechless ???

I hate them both but B101 is better?? If you hate them then why and when would you have spent time listening to make that determination? Sorry to interject but these boards are SO FULL of EMPTY STATEMENTS that no one ever backs up!! I will have to side with "TheBigA" on this one and say that a "sliver" of B's share is MORE than 'JJZ ever displayed. Same kind of deal in the NYC area with "Lite" and "Fresh." Is Fresh crushing Lite?? No but they have managed to infringe on their territory enough to force some "tweaking" at the Lite. In all reality competition is reFRESHing and forces changes whether it be in music selection, positioning or gimmicks like "commercial free hours." This is clearly the biggest threat to B's Game since Sunny left the picture... it's been gloomy ever-since! Plus whether or not 97.5 is a real contender really is a moot point as it can better hit the key-demos with an AC format than Jazz (sorry to state the obvious)!
