Just checked out 100000watts.com and up in Fairfield County, CT. Oldies WKHL Kool 96.7 has just gone variety hits as "96-7 The Coast Fairfield County's Greatest Hits" I'm listening to it now online via www.kool967.com and I gotta tell ya it's GREAT...so far, but here is where things get a little interesting. WKHL is owned by COX correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think COX has any other variety hits stations except this one. Here is another interesting factoid for all of you to ponder, with WBIG appearing to be changing to a "modified classic rock format", according to dcrtv.com could Clear Channel try and fallow what COX up in CT has just done given the fact that WKHL was oldies until 10pm tonight (see the CT. board for more info and a sample hour) WBIG is now oldies/classic hits AS WAS WKHL.

In closing here my question, given the observations I have pointed out above WKHL is listed as variety hits but is playing a healthy dose of classic rock too....hmmm WKHL was oldie/classic hits now they are variety hits. WBIG is apparently about to flip from oldies/classic hits to a modified classic rock. One more thing just as I wrote that last sentance, WKHL started playing "Cupid by The Spinners" now I have read the sample hour on the CT board and there is alot of classic rock alot of pop and now it looks like a dose of oldies in the mix. The BIG (pardon the pun) question is, could we be looking at 100.3 the *insert name here" DC's Greatest Hits? This should make for a very very interesting discussion, take care for now.
