Now it's Magic 93.1 WBBK that is off.

Don't know how long, but at least since I punched them up in the early morning.
Maybe it is part of a new strategy. Alternate stations being off air for a day or two
to save money on the power bill

Could be ZUZU. Or having no revenue to buy a part.

sure is an eye opener!! no lightning protection at the sticks....good strategy. That will be corrected in VERY SHORT ORDER. We don't play that way. Hell, it's only been 3 full days...can't get everything done in 1 week! What shall we do next week???? Humm?

That's definitely #2 on the list. Now that we have #1 accomplished it's onward and upward. You guys don't know us...but Ron Eubanks, Dave Sommers, Big Stew, Bill Moody just to name a few know who we are, and what we will accomplish. Simply put - We believe in local broadcasting. We know that local radio works. We love personalities, and we have amassed the best radio broadcasting staff in Montgomery buy anyones measure - all without holding anyone hostage with no-competes....wonder if WOOF or TRP would be willing to do the same?

Except for a few nodding offs since 6 am on Tuesday August 4th I went to sleep yesterday afternoon after getting home from the station and slept until this morning (I only woke up for pages from the station, calls from friends and family, letting my four legged babies outside, and the termite company). I have read Radio Info over the last few years but I have never personally posted a comment. Today I feel I must however post. Yesterday morning in the 7am ( or perhaps 6, my time line is blurry) I received at the the radio station a call from Timmy. He said he saw the post that Michael had posted re: the death of my brother Britt, my Mama's first child.. Timmy wanted to express to my Mama, my brother Hart and me how sorry he was to hear of Britt's death...he had seen it on the Radio-Info board. To Michael, thanks for posting the sad news...to Charlie, thank you for your post, and to the others who I do not know who you are, thank you so much for acknowledging your condolences. I (and our family) so very much appreciate your kind words. I went on line this morning to see what Timmy saw on Radio Info and maybe because my emotions are so out of control right now I should not post this but I am going to do so. To all of you who know my family, thank you for being so kind and caring in our time of unbelievable grief. To the person who describes himself as South Florida Boy, shame on you!...for even mentioning my family at this time (and yes by saying “WOOF” is implying my family in many many ways)...and I know you are aware about our circumstance due to the posting from Michael on August 6th. How dare you put before my family (WOOF) a ultimatum re: non competes. Clay has his own reasons for non competes in his business and I respect that. As for WOOF, in my active participation at WOOF in right at 27 years we only had non-competes for only a short time during a station manager's short time at WOOF. My WOOF family (of whom I spend more time and share more emotions with than I do my blood family) is beside my Mama, Hart and me because they chose to, not because of corporate non competes. SHAME SHAME SHAME on you for bringing this sort of thing up at this time! WOOF is a family, by blood and by choice. We lead our day to day life, not in competition to “TRP”,as you refer to "Mr. South Florida Person” of which I see as Clay as a human being, not some moniker (TRP), we do are radio doing radio as it should be. WOOF is a family like I said, a family of blood and those who choose to be a part of it. We are not driven by competition, however we are driven by what RADIO is supposed to be...a place that our licensed community can turn to in good times and in bad. Again, maybe I should never have decided to “post” during my incredible time of emotions but I felt I must do so.

BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! Thank you Leigh for sharing with us the true meaning behind radio! Live and Local and giving the community what they need. You have an AMAZING family at WOOF! Keep doing what you know how to do and WOOF will continue to reap the benefits.

Both the Simpson Family and WOOF family are in my prayers and thoughts! God Bless!

I personally knew TRP did non-competes but I was un sure about WOOF,now it's settled.Thank you Leigh for clearing it up, I guess it's like Moma always said keep your mouth shut until you know something for sure.
Leigh I am truly sorry to hear about your Brother

So, one of the most respected broadcasters in the state, L.S., doesn't get a response?

Whoa. I'll stick my nose in to say I was quite saddened to hear about your brother Leigh. Post away Leigh, the business could stand to read more from you.

Mr Simpson

I just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear about your brother passing. I know I'm a big brother and I would be lost without my brother.
I never had the pleasure of working for WOOF but I know your station and your staff are one in a million.

Just came back to this thread after being off since last Sunday and was mortified to see your comments Leigh. Please accept my heartfelt appology. When I posted about no competes I had no idea who had passed and what the relationship was. Please accept it as a case of total ignorance by me, and not one of hurtfullness. Family will always come first with us. People always come first with us. In fact, that is exactly why I feel so strongly about no competes. I would never try to hold someone and their family hostage with a legal document. You and your family have a wonderful radio station and my heart goes out to you in your time of grief. I look forward to friendly competition in the future - there will be a time for that. Our goal is to raise the bar in our little corner of the market, and do it with respect and support for our staff as well as our competition. Once again, I will say that I truly appologize for the timing of my comment. Please pass that along to the rest of your family. With that I will sign...
