I admire the station in Portland (?) that is running a snarky anti-all-Christmas-music campaign and urging people to save Thanksgiving.
Of course, as long as CC/Columbus continues its neurotic insistence on wasting WLZT's big stick on me-too AC, what have they got to lose? May as well go with the only thing they do that ever gets ratings for them. This is, after all, the station that gave us the infamous Cinqo de Christmas promo several Mays back. In retrospect, the fact that they came up with the bizarro calls "WLZT" for "Lite" years ago should have been an instant tip-off that this was destined to remain one weird, disturbed station.
Every year I hope they'll come out of Christmas music with something new, but to no avail. This year I'm not even going to delude myself into thinking there's a snowball's chance. Besides, if they did something sensible with 93.3 after Christmas, what would I have left to post about after the initial praise? Oh well, as bizarre and maddening as 93.3's weak-AC fixation may be, at least it is offset this year by plenty of praiseworthy developments at other CC/Columbus stations....
