(I've purposely placed this thread in the "Classic TV" section, and you'll know why when you read on.)
Now that CHCH is an independent station again (owned and operated by Channel Zero as of today), news by day and movies by night, I want to talk about the movie aspect.
Do you remember back in the day, wherever you were/are at the time, when an independent station's primary lineup consisted of old movies (and sometimes a sprinkling of syndicated shows on the side)? In the early and mid '80s, prior to joining the new FOX network, KCPQ (remember aiming your antenna towards Bremerton?) was branded as "The Northwest's Movie Channel" or something like it. If you were a Seattle resident or lived within range of the signal (or had it on cable), it was like a localized version of the premium cable movie channels like HBO and others.
Do you have a similar experience to share here about independent stations with a primary focus on vintage films?
