Now that K104 is no longer #1

Why not just overhaul the station? They should have plenty of free money now that "The Mayor" is gone. First of all, re-image. Get a voice guy! Add more throwbacks and r&b since hip is not as popular as it once was. I believe they should make adjustments to keep up with the times. You can't keep doing the same thing year after year if you're no longer on top.

I agree, they need to add old school hip hop like KDAY in L.A.

Another suggestion would be to take KRNB's format and put it on the 104.5 stick. The target demo would be adults 25-54 with an empahsis on the 35-45 year old adult. The mix of music would be 70% R&B and 30% rap/hip hop. The R&B would be from the 1970's to Now and the hip hop would be classic hip hop. None of today's rap music. On the weekends have some neo-soul, blues and jazz.

Then on the 105.7 facility have a 24 hour Today's gospel music station. Only on Sundays they would play some of the old time gospel. NO ministries, just good ole fashioned BLACK GOSPEL MUSIC.

I agree and basically said the same thing in the other post about the arrival of the new PD/brand manage, George Cook. They should take some cues from V-103 in Atlanta whom done exactly that to maintain dominance in a very crowded urban market. They also need to reengage themselves with their listeners by upping the ante on community events and issues in the DFW Metroplex. All of these things should be attempted by K104 since it is the oldest urban in the market.
