Now that the Cumulus QC stations are streaming finally I can comment!

I have been waiting over a decade for these to stream online. The only QC station I haven't heard is the LP 92.5 Groove FM. I don't know how good an urban hip-hop station it is but how come it's only 100 watts?

Out of all the Cumulus stations I really love is that KBOB Rock 104-9. I wonder why it's website is down though. I heard from this board it's not as good as Lazer 103.3 in Des Moines but I think it is. I've known about this station since it was at 93.5 MHz back a go. The voice announcer is good and the female jock at night sounds perfect. This station is now one of my favorite rockers. I knew it was going to be a good one!

I can see why the hot AC Star 93-5 isn't doing so good in the ratings. The music mix for one needs to be more appealing. It just sounds ordinary. There needs to be more currents. No wonder KMXB Mix 94.1 in Vegas does so well. There is also way too many commercials. Make Star more modern and then it'd probably do better. There's no competition format in this market so it has lots of opportunities.

B-100 is cool to listen to but still isn't as good as when All Hit 98-9 was on the air. I miss 98.9 very much and that was my all time fav. CHR station. The music mix isn't as rhythmic as it used to be on B-100. I also noticed that they changed their voice announcer too. I'm very glad I can now listen to Jesse Mitchell again who was from my local CHR - WXSS 103.7 Kiss FM. I know him personally and will have to check him out next Monday as I didn't get a chance to hear him yet as I wasn't home.

97 X I'll have to listen to more - don't know what to think of them yet.

I tried to listen to WLLR 103.7 today but the stream isn't connecting. The upbeat country is probably why it's #1 in the ratings. It is my favorite country station. I hope they will fix it soon.

They better not change the rock station frequencies anymore! 3 times is enough!

Rock 104-9 I hate the dayparting and I'm not too sure about adding all the older alternative stuff.
It's nice that they shook up the music mix, but I think the 18 to 34 men that the station is going
after aren't going to take to this. The men have wanted the harder edge stuff for years and the station
has never delivered no matter what stick it was on.

Star 93.5 I went back and purposely listened to the station a little more and think you're right.
You want the music mix to be "hip" but not so much that the soccer moms don't feel like they
can't relate to the station. If anything, this format is pretty much in line with VH1 when they
show videos. (it happens!) But star doesn't reflect that. You could literally take the music playlist
from VH1, put it on a stick and get the female target demo you want.
I think that is a credit to the persons responsible at VH1 for music.

B100 has dropped off on it's rhythmic lean and gone more poppy.
This is due to the guy being in charge of ALL the CHR's in the Cumulus arsenal.
He makes the call and however many CHR stations they have all sound that way.
Pretty sad, especially since this guy has publicly stated he lets the programmers
make their stations appropriate for the local market.
That my friends is what we call an outright lie.
I think that station is OK overall. But I really like the morning show.
RED-HOT BALONEY IN THE MORNING!

97X... a shell of it's former self. It seriously should not be called 97X.
I mean Christopher Cross? Sailing? WTF?
They have SOME cool tunes, but at most I'll flip here when Rock 104-9
plays burned out crap I can't stand.

WLLR I don't even have it in my radio's presets. But people obviously listen for the music.
The jocks are proficient at their duties, but bore me.

I don't know if it's a company wide thing,
or just a QC thing at Clear Channel, but the jocks have no friggin pulse.
Talk for 20 seconds max and then get out of the way of A LOOOONNNNGGG set of music.
Why even record the voice track? I can see why every jock that even has a job there
can do 2 shifts on 2 stations. Sit down in a production studio with your liners and music log
and then crank out your voice tracks in a half-hour. GREAT
This is why we still have only one morning show that grabs attention when they
fart, sniffle or belch... Where is the young talent and creating "stars" of the future?
It's not there and as a result the general public NO LONGER CARES.

I look forward to Clear Channel being even MORE f-ed up when the new owners get settled in
and start implementing even more "cost synergies". (budget cuts)

Tim Carlson, Julie Jameson and Jim Hunter should feel lucky they got pink-slipped
when they did, this is only going to get worse.

We should feel lucky that Cumulus got out of their go-private deal.
Otherwise damn near every station in the QC would be Morning Show and then
automation all day long.

How about someone start up a few new stations in the area
and put some f-ing muscle behind them!
These guys "compete" against each other, but not TOO hard.
It sickening the amount of money these 2 companies make, but don't
invest enough into what actually serves the public.

Sheesh, maybe I should say something positive?

uhhh I can pick up 4 stations on my clock radio!
and I'm in the metro QC too!
