1) KBKO: Definitely facing a setback with the impending loss of LaRae. Love the artist/title thing and 20 in a Row. I'm confident the mornings will rebound as long as Ken stays in the picture, but I'm in wait-and-see mode. (I'm sure the folks on Sillect are breathing a little easier, for now.
2) Play: Since cleaning house...does anyone know they exist anymore?
3) Pirate Radio One: Starting to see the decline (looking forward to the trends next week). There's going to be a little attrition, I've heard from some of the P1s I knew that said they're a little tired of it. It's like a taco with no meat...just cheese and lettuce.
4) KGFM (Pirate Radio Two): They lost their R&R status, they've lost a lot of their offices. I don't see this one working well. It's never a good sign when you adjust the music to more closely match your morning show.
5) Breeze: "K-Lite The Sequel"...without the personality. Sorry guys. Nice try. You're just blowin' in the wind. No chance to beat 101.5.
6) 970: Love the music. HATE the signal. Come on. You really think 25-54 women are going to listen to AM? You're cluster would be better off simulcasting KBKO and put that station on an even footing signal-wise with KUZZ AM/FM. What a waste. How is it that Clear Channel, the single biggest broadcasting company in the world, can't program a decent Talk station in Bakersfield? Could it be management? Hmmmmm.
