Sunny 102 actually sounds pretty good,I like the soft rock thing they have going.
It looks like they have finally found a niche and I look for their awful numbers to improve and take away from Lite and Y.

95X is on the comback trail already,MUCH faster than anyone else here imagined.
That of course is awful news for TK and K-Rock,but then again, for K-Rock it really doesn't matter, they've never had any numbers at all anyway.

WSYR should get a nice bump in the long run from Channel 9 switching call letters, but Reith's time is almost up,and with WFBL putting a new local drive time show on,and making a major move at night in August,WFBL may become a player after all.

The roblem for the rest of the market though is this...B 104 and Power and Hot are all going to major players here for the forseeable future, with WSYR and y brining in respectable numbers too. So when all is said and done C.C. dominates LONG into the future, the rest can just sweep up the crumbs and hire the castoffs.

> Dear Genius,
Your perspective is a bit "skewed".Clear Channel would give their right nut for Power to have Sunny 102's billing.Sunny doubles Power in revenue.Don't they tell you anything there? Power aint a power anywhere.
95X comeback?WHAT? They did a 3.8 for the month of April. The revenue is down 50%!!! The sales Manager walked.Check back in a year. The "comeback" will still be coming back.95X doesn't have a year.Just watch.

Dude,
Chill.
A few months does not a year make son. I don't hear you crowing about how far down C.C. is anymore. And it's not just all about REVENUE,it's about PROFIT.
Big Mike is costing you an arm and a leg bud,and you know it.
Look party boy,Galaxy isn't ever going to compete in the big leagues. It's no suprise that Ed keeps hiring C.C. castoffs (are you in double figures there yet??) because no one else wants to work there.
95X is going to be just fine and do you know why?
Because NO ONE at Galaxy can figure out how to take advantage of their brief drop, if they did,THEY WOULD HAVE BY NOW. You keep talking about revenue there dillweed, that's really gonna work out for you in the long run.
Look,YOU made the decision to work for Ed,now you've got to live with it,don't blame us because we kick your butt week after week, month after month, year after year.

Hey JerkOff - TK took advantage of X. Dont you get the numbers ?????

thegenius obviously gets info secondhand,or is just a terminal flame, because anyone who has access (key phrase) to the numbers ,knows the real story...

Re: then then

Hate to burst your bubble but 95x is not climbing out for a lot longer than a year. Howard hasnt started on sirius and TK and talk radio has the listeners currently. Not to mention they really alinated the town. Way more than a year and a format change from corporate is a well educated guess.<P ID="signature">______________

back from vacation and back on the page. you think everybody loves to work at cc. are you kidding. work for nothing get paid nothing and still can't make their budgets. boo hoo. big doesn't mean better, son. When they say less is more they mean it...

Re: Just A Question

Hello...I do not want to get into the ratings war or war of words with what stations are better in Syracuse, however, I do have a question that I would be interested in hearing back.

First, I am not taking sides with anyone and do not even work in Syracuse, but my questions would be: Is is possible, that a station like TK-99 would do better in the ratings if they had a signal as strong as the other Syracuse stations? I know in the markets I have been involved in, the stations with the lower powered signal that could not penetrate well into buildings and homes, never did that well. It was like the higher powered stations did better just by default. Even in Utica, before the FROG became FROG with a power increase, we aired a country format but could never do much with the 3000 watt siganl. Then, FROG becomes FROG, they increase the power to 25,000 watts, and just like overnight, the station is a huge success since more people can pick them up.

I just don't see people saying to themselves..."I know I cannot oick-up TK-99 in my building at work, but when I get back into my car after work, I will turn it on." I think if you have trouble getting it in a lot of places, you just the heck with that type of station. So, I was just wondering if they might be more successful if they had the same power as others.

Thanks for the opportunity to air my opinion and question here.

Regards,

Dave

No son,Galaxy employees work for nothing and make nothing. Like I've said int he past,we have SALESPEOPLE who make more tha your SALES MANAGERS, A LOT more.*LOL*
Yeah,TK really took advantage of 95x's demise...I mean just look at how far up they zoomed...*LMAO*
I realize when you start from really crappy numbers ANY gain is seen as being huge, but I mean puh-leeze, we're talking about REAL ratings here, not typical Galaxy numbers.
95X is going to be just fine, without a format change. And I'll ask again,THEN what are TK and KROCK going to do?
Answer, what they've ALWAYS done, poorly in the ratings, even worse when it comes to PROFIT.*LOL*

Re: Just An Answer

Hi Dave,
Speculation here is that TK is going to do very well and has taken complete advantage of the 95x mess. Sit tight for the numbers, because if tk stays the course they will do very well. My humble opinion is that Dave is programming one of the best rock stations in the country right now and i travel. Signal strength is the most important factor but the music mix is very good.

Re: Just An Answer Too

Hi Brian:

Thanks for the response to my question. As a former programer, manager, and on-air person some years ago, I still take an interest in what is going on in the radio arena from a music, programming and sound quality standpoint, even though I do not work for any radio outlet. I am in the ad agency business and obviously I have to take an interest in these areas for the good of our client base. So I guess I have this interest just as a former radio guy and now from a business perspective for our business clients.

And as I mentioned earlier, I am somewhat honored that some of the area stations over the years have still thought enough of my opinons on music and sound quality to ask me for my viewpoint within certain areas. As you said, it will be interesting to see how everyone does in the book, but I haven't seen to many 6000 watt stations like TK overtake many 25000 to 100000 watt stations, even if they do program and sound better. I still feel that WOUR 96.9 and MIX 102.5 out of Utica, both Clear Channel operations, sound the best from a quality and processing standpoint, but again, that is only my opinon and how it sounds to my ears and liking.

Again, I am happy to be a part of this forum and hope to learn from the other posts and maybe offer a tidbit or two of good information from time to time.

Regards,

Dave
