Guest
I've been invited by Michael Allwood, News Director at WVNO, to appear on The Blue State Diner on Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. EDT.

If you've been wanting to speak your peace, you can call in to (614) 821-1580.

The show can be heard online at wvko1580.com.

So Sean, what is the topic for the show, or will you just be taking on all-comers??? I would love to hear it, but I will be in the Shoe to watch the Bucks play the well, uhhh, ehhh, the Bucks....Good Luck

Well, it's not just me. Fellow Stephanie Miller aficionados Buddy from Clintonville and Dave from Gahanna will also be on hand.

Host Michael Alwood has indicated this should get real interesting. ;)

This would be worth taking along a Walkman to the Shoe. 8)

That would be an accurate assessment...some local something or other. :D

You might want to check out the WVKO message board for more details on Saturday's Blue State Diner.

No offense to Buddy and Dave, as their contributions to the show are enjoyable... But if "Mama" herself is booked for this gig, then we'll talk...

"I don't have time for this. I have to buy a single piece of fruit..."

Didn't your cranky old man card expire? ;D

sean-- can't hear 1580 in orrville, what happened with your broadcast over the weekend?--david9396

Okay, I listened.

I had to skim past the nearly two minutes of incoherent movie drops, a really awful Stephanie Miller drop, three different bump beds including the main theme from the Quinn and Rose show, to get to what appeared to be the show open, that actually had the lyrics behind the host which made it extremely difficult to hear.

Then we heard the host intro the guests, only not to hear the first as his mic was turned off. Then it was quite a struggle as the levels of the microphones were all over the road. What appeared to be a conversation on an earthquake was mixed with noise of a chair or mic boom which lead into three other conversations, none of which had a point.

Rather than a talk show it sounded like four drunken college kids on the 300 watt college station at bar time on a Saturday. Strike that, those smashed kids could run a better board and carry a better conversation.

Is the station this poor sounding all the time? And who invited Paul Lynde?

YES!!! Stole the words right from my mouth. All politics aside, the imaging and the sound is deplorable. Such a poor excuse for a radio station.

John and Heather: A shame neither of you called in. Chances are the two of you would have sounded more like drunken college kids than we did. :p

An uninformed personal attack vs. your professional performance?

C'mon, you're better than that.

Best,
JbC

It's been nearly 20 years since I was behind a radio microphone for a live show. Are we sure we want to consider my appearance a professional performance? ;D

Now, if we were to compare it with the daily professionalism of Stephanie Miller, Jim Ward and Chris Lavoie...

Well, maybe there's not much of a comparison. :D

Good night, JohnBoy.
