This is a cool report, dude. It's pretty involved for the average person, though. Since you posted this link, could you enlighten us as to what it really means?

It's a signal study of a 1.28 kW booster at 0 mHAAT...V-pol only...near Beverly Hills. It says, among other things, that HD signals are spotty within its coverage area. Well, DUH!!! The terrain is hilly, the transmitting antennas are vertically polarized only, and one of them is pointed right at a number of tall steel buildings.
It's ONE case study in ONE particular location of a crippled signal. To draw any generalizations from it is ridiculous.
It says that RF-challenged areas will find that an IBOC booster is about as much help as an analog FM booster.
It will work if there is a good natural divide, but will suffer when (where) both signals are received.
LA is very, very tricky. This would work well say in SLC/Provo where one big mountain blocks all N/S signals.
I was wondering what Pocketradio thought it said, since he brought it to the table. I assumed most of the "Tech Types" read it when it came out a couple of years ago like I did.
