A couple weeks ago, I mentioned an internal NPR memo that said the company was canceling newspaper subscriptions. Today, the company's ombudsman (a woman) said the story is not true:

This comes a couple days after NPR disputed another story that said they were considering holding an on-air fundraiser.

Maybe an ombudsperson? Begins to sound like a German word. (Those of you who know my last name will understand that to be humor!!!)

Thanks for posting this. If the economy doesn't kill this nation, the reporting of phony news has the next best chance of getting the job done. Where does all the phony-baloney originate anyway?
