This information is linked from the IVI-TV facebook page. I'm not sure if this is something they are
starting or have an interest in. Here's some general information followed by the link. Take a look
and see what you think. They claim you will be able to pick your own channels, etc., etc.

Pick Your Own Channel Line Up:
People are tired of paying for channels that they don't like or never watch. That is definitely the last generation of TV viewing. If you don't want to choose from one of our pre-defined programming packages, no problem. With our Pick Your Own Channels 'à la carte' program, you will be able to build your own playlist of the channels you want to watch and pay for them on a monthly basis. And this feature can be managed either right on your HDTV screen or even over the phone for your convenience. (OTB)

SEVERAL HD PROGRAMMING PACKAGE OPTIONS
We have five programming packages in mind to suit all viewing tastes. All packages will be extremely competitive and provide you with much more bang for your viewing buck, The HDTV package names are Aurora, Quasar, Galaxy, Dimension and Celestial for $29, $49, $79, $99 and $129 USD per month respectively. The package channel lineups are still in development and will be available on our web site closer to Nuclius launch. International programming packages will be available over time as well. (OTB)

When is this supposed to launch? Until it does, it's vaporware. ::)
 
I don't really see the point of this. Their packages are about the same price, if not higher, than what you would pay any cable or satellite company. My Verizon Fios package is $40/month and that includes pretty much every channel including Showtime. So what are these guys offering for $129??? Notice they don't give any indication about how much they charge per channel (a la carte). My guess is that the price per channel will be high enough that it will end up being a better value just to subscribe to one of the packages anyway.
 
It "sounds" like they may have more to offer than the other guys.

I think this could be PLAN B for IVI. If they get shut down, just start a new company and
start a similar service........but for more money this time around.
 
I wonder WHOSE "HD Local Channels" they plan to carry? Or, is this another one of those companies that thinks they will just stream a New York and LA O&O station, and call it a "Local Network"?

Just hope this announcement doesn't attract any unwanted attraction from the Feds and close THAT service down before it starts.
