Number Of Clears

I saw in the trades that Dave Ramsey topped the 400 mark in clears...last I heard Rush had over 600 and Sean had over 500. does anyone know where other talk shows rank in number of clears? Beck? Savage?

I don't think Beck is in that territory. He lost a lot of Clear Channel clearances when local stations started to do 9-noon shows, though he's back on many of 'em (here in Cleveland, Columbus, etc.).

He's not far away, though.

Savage? Maybe, but not quite. You'd have to think Mark Levin is eating into his clearance numbers something fierce.

Ramsey is getting a lot of clears that he wouldn't have gotten a year ago, due to the economy. Props to him and his team for not just sitting there and waiting...when things started really going south, they jumped on it.

I don't know if Clark Howard has more radio clearances, but he's got that gig on what was Headline News every weekend with reports during the week.

Yes, but Ramsey started doing his own TV show on Fox Business Channel for months until Howard came along with his own TV gig.

Monkey see... ?

Clark is kinda traveling down the same road as Ramsey, picking up affiliates and pushing his "tightwad consumer advice" schtick in the face of the deepening recession. Dial Global presumably has been pushing Mr. Howard, but I get the idea Ramsey's been more aggressive with it, being a self-run operation (last I checked).

Clark's picked up a few clears with stations picking him up alongside Ramsey, though they both lost one this past week that they'd just picked up - WYTS/1230 Columbus (now an FSR affiliate).
