94.7 in Chicago. Oldies has returned to the Windy City on the old WLS-FM!! It is now WZZN, but how long will it be before the LS calls return?

Hope so. All we have is a couple of classic rock stations and a hodge-podge format called Jack.

Oldies is on a Franklin Indy Rimshot The Former Joy 96 as Gold 95.9 with a COuple of the former Gold 104.5 Jocks at the new Gold

By the Way, Steppenwolf, I think their is a Classic Hits Format on 106.1, and it can be received in most of the Market, especially if you are a little south of Indy.

I am currently listening to a 90-minute aircheck of it via a link on the Airchecks board. I think it sounds great. To *my* ears, this is what oldies radio should sound like.

The Chicago board is on fire with talk about 94.7 The True Oldies Channel and all sorts of speculation about slowly integrating more live and local and less of the Scott Shannon satellite feed. In all honesty, if I hadn't already been aware of the True Oldies satellite format, I might not have realized that's what it was. I guess they are laying in just enough local references.

I am all for live and local. But I have to say that I am loving the current sound of 94.7/WZZN. With all due respect to the guys down in Franklin, I am actually quite jealous of Chicagoland right now.

Kudos to ABC for making this move. If this works, maybe NYC could see a shift of WPLJ back to WABC-FM (I am sure plenty of CBS-FM fans would like that). Let's hope ABC keeps up the great work and that whoever ends up with WZZN after the eventual/potential sale of ABC radio properties takes great care of it.

Let's start (continue a rumor?): Could Landecker come to morning drive on 94.7? Maybe ABC will buy out Lujack's contract from Clear Channel and he and Edwards will move to afternoons? Sheesh, while we'll at it, Fred Winston is released from his contract at Infinity to do middays. Repeat these are only rumors--no FACTS attached or claimed by the author.
