NWPR Launches Jazz Station

Friday marked the official launch of KJEM 89.9, which is Northwest Public Radio's first Jazz station. Even though it's under the NWPR banner, KJEM will officially be a student-run station. Also, it looks like the call letters were specifically chosen to honor J. Elroy McCaw.

For more details, see the pre- and post-launch press releases (at http://news.wsu.edu/2013/10/29/murrow-college-to-launch-jazz-radio-station and http://news.wsu.edu/2013/11/01/wsus-murrow-college-launches-new-jazz-station-89-9-kjem, respectively)--plus a related NWPR story (at http://nwpr.org/post/nwpr-launches-jazz-station).
