NY & CT Stations Blast Into South Shore

I was driving through Hanover, MA at around 6pm this evening and WDRC in CT was cutting into the Cape's Pixy 102.9, flipped to Cool 101.9 and WQCD was on, which is located in New York. Both these stations were clear as day in Hanover. I researched both WDRC & WQCD and both are under 50k watts. Did anyone else notice this?
 
there have been reports of unusual FM DX lately...see this board, DX, etc. Weather conditions, time of yr, etc
