NYC TV fans get ready

YouTuber mazinz2 has uncovered the ORIGINAL 4:30 Movie opening bumper...before the Rotating Cameraman icon. Now thing is this has no sound. But one can assume the same music (Joe Raposso's Moving Pictures) was used for both opens. What I did was I paused the video at about 31 seconds, opened another tab in Firefox and played the music. If the timing works out the last blasting note should come up as the title zooms out from the director's megaphone.

This is not only for New York City TV fans, but also Detroit TV fans, For this opening was also used (and for a few more years after WABC introduced the 'rotating cameraman' open) by WXYZ-TV. And with the exact same theme music, no less.

I've also been apprised that this same open (only with a slight difference in the exact title) was used in Chicago by WLS-TV for their own afternoon film showcase, The 3:30 Movie.

I was a big fan of the 4:30 movie on ABC-TV in New York. As a kid, I would rush to get done with my after school paper route so I could be home in time for the 4:30 movie. Loved their theme weeks such as World War II Week, Spy Week, Martin & Lewis Week, etc. However I seem to remember them using this intro with the Channel 7 logo:
