Despite having one of the most valuable TV stations in the country, New York City has decided to hang onto its public channel, WNYE, rather than sell its airwaves in the upcoming spectrum auction. The FCC set an opening bid on WNYE at $769 million. But the city didn't submit an application, instead electing to continue airing shows like Firehouse Kitchen and Neighborhood Slice.
