"From what I'm hearing, there is concern about [WINS'] PPM numbers," writes NYRMB moderator Allan Sniffen. Because of this, he says that the station will soon introduce a new delivery package with different themes for each news segment, as well as "faster" stories to accommodate "more stories" for the listener... all in the name of being PPM-friendly.
I know they're already using a new imaging guy, as the previous one, Jim Cutler, who up until recently juggled both WINS and 1050 ESPN chose the latter one full-time. So, add to the station's new voiceover, a new music package, and a quicker pace - as well as elements such as lottery results being factored out - and it will be interesting to see where WINS falls on the top billing radio stations list next year.
