NYTimes: "HD Radio Crying Out to Be Heard"

Savage said:
...How many times have we heard AM as being described as "tinny?" I don't know about every AM station but I know that my TX, phasor, audio system and four-tower directional antenna are pretty flat down to 50 Hz and pass 10 kHz. If the FCC would let me I could open it up to 15 kHz.....

More likely *some* of the radios are the problem, Bob... I had one once – the early Sony autosound series built into my 1983 Saab 900. I encouraged the dealer to yank and replace it with an Alpine system—best overall AM/FM radio I’ve had in a car, BTW! The current Delphi AM radio section in my new Pontiac is ANYTHING but "tinny"... It could benefit from a few more cycles at the top-end; but it's sensitive, free from motor noise, and sounds reasonably good.
