Did anyone catch Opie & Anthony going after the morning show at WBMW (New London market) featuring Rebecca (formerly of B-101)? WBMW's ownership, Red Wolf, made a point about Citadel's carrying Opie & Anthony and the boys taking payola from web links they have.
Commenting on Glenn & Rebecca's picture on the station's website, O & A thought they looked like "parents."
 
Does anyone really care what those two idiots say? [EDIT] Two lame no talent rip offs who lucked themselves into a radio career. Their fans are just as bad. Harrassing news crews and posting giant signs outside CBS Television City calling Tyra Banks a fat pig. Isn't that nice to see as you drive into work? Signs calling you a fat pig plastered all over Beverly Blvd. I hope Opie and Anthony get their toungs hacked off in a horrible weeding accident.

Skynet74, you just don't appreciate good radio. Thank you for person who edited that post for vulgarity. Opie and Anthony are great talents and you should be honored to have them in your radio market.
 
That has to be the funniest thing I've ever had edited on this board. I didn't even swear. I just said that I wanted to take a giant Number 2 on their heads. I can't say that??? Okie Dokie. LOL. In any event...... can you really say with a straight face that Opie and Anthony are great talents? Really? Please tell me what is so great about them because I don't get it. Stern I get! Opie and Anthony I don't.
 
Yes, I can say with a straight face that Opie and Anthony are great talents. Stern on the other hand is not...he thinks he is bigger than cell phones for god sakes and created everything in the world.
 
I'll admit that Stern thinks he invented bread. But at least the guy has the natural talent of being genuinely funny. Anthony used to bow down to Stern back in the early 90's. Anthony was working at WBAB on Long Island and he would eat, drink and sleep Stern. Then as soon as he got better known he stabbed Howard in the back by acting like he never liked Stern. Anthony is the biggest phony going. Opie's no better. Their low brow humor even makes Howard look like a college professor. I sat in my Car yesterday where I don't yet have Sirius and actually subjected myself to those two dudes. It got so bad that I actually switched to Ron St. Pierre.

If you like O & A.... than that's fine. I don't want to get into an O & A (vs.) Stern war. Everyone likes something different. But I personally know their history. They are posers! Also as juvenile as you may think Sterns fans are.... they still don't even come close to the garbage I see O & A pull. Opie and Anthony will actually pay listeners to humiliate other people. Are those the Great talents in which you speak? To be so desperate where you need to create controversy by having your listeners act like morons? GTD, i assume you listen to Stern daily right?...i assume this because you woudn't criticize something that you aren't listening to....with that said, Stern has re-invented himself...the show is entertaining, funny, and makes hour long car drives seem like 5 minutes. O and A are boring, and as the previous poster stated, a rip off. I have XM and listened to O and A but since getting sirius, i haven't turned them back on once. Also, there is NO ONE i know that isn't very very pleased with Stern's show to the point of Friday's being a total bummer cause he isn't there. Its time to see Stern for what he has done and is doing....i know its "cool" to slam people on top of thier game but Stern sounds better than ever and the subscriptions prove it. If radio doesn't get back to being personality driven its gonna be all over within 10 years

Which would explain why all of the former Stern stations are in deep s*%t since his departure, right? Howard was a ratings AND revenue success (and he DID create the concept that is "everything in the world" that O & A - as well as many others - are so poorly trying to emulate). Opie & Anthony, not so much. O & A are simply wannabes - and their ratings reflect it. You may like O & A, and that's your privilege, but the masses don't, and without diary-keeper approval you fail. As they are doing.
 
Getting back to the point of this thread...

Opie and Anthony can be heard on WMOS/New London (104.7 The Wolf).

I wonder how Citadel-New London management felt about O&A basically promoting their rival WBMW.
