O & A getting beat by the Hillman

I find it funny that the big bad opie and anthony show is getting beat bad by the hillman morning show on waaf. of course o and a won't mention this because they like to tell everyone that they are bigger and better than howard stern. too bad they are getting killled in boston, their 'big' market. they won't mention this on the air, even though they are the "most honest show on the radio." donald trump was right, these two slobs are losers. look at the numbers:

Opie & Anthony are down to a 2.6 share

WAAF is #2 beating O&A who are #4

WAAF is # 3 beating O & A again

WAAF is #3 with a 9.6 share beating O & A again who are way behind with a 5.6 share

WAAF is ranked Top 5 in the market! (O&A are down at #9)

David Lee Roth to re-join Van Halen for a tour. If they can kiss and make up - Van Halen & DLR, Maybe Opie & Anthony can broadcast live from a Cathedral?

O & A is what you call a "band aid". I consider it a stop gap measure because DLR did so poorly. Let's face it, bringing back those two jerks after they screwed up twice was only something meant to stop the bleeding.
Problem with CBS is that they are not scouting a true replacement for Stern. O & A are just copycat radio.
They have no independent thought...it is just follow the leader. Given a choice, would you take Stern or
O & A? It isn't that Hillman has beat them, it's that Hillman isn't getting as many listeners as Stern, but he's getting more than O & A; O & A's audience is tuning in to Stern. Why doesn't CBS realize this?

CBS had no national plan, Wellington and Oedipus before him had no local back-up plan. Gee whiz, I might've only programmed two AM stations, but God knows I had back-up plans! in place... First thing Wellington should've done is have his idea for live and local ready to launch...not playing favorites by pulling someone in from the Casinos of Las Vegas...hedge yer bet - protect yourself against a possible loss by having something ready to go.

They are all "soldiers" and no one has any real strategy. Hillman has had years to entrench himself in the community. O & A, minus their shenanigans, just don't have the sizzle. Toucher & Rich, Opie & Anthony,
Chuck Nowlin, these are not the giants of our industry.

Or, another way to look at it is: look how quickly O&A dug BCN out of the hole David Lee Roth left in the mornings. Numbers are sales tools boys,[EDIT]

Of course, I like the show so discount anything I might say about O&A, while embraceing anything anyone who fears the show might say as 'from the lips of God'.

can't argue with that, Lucy. Of course WBCN's numbers across the board have been in decline for the past decade because the music never bounced back and matched the Patriots / Stern numbers (please don't ask for the Arbitrons, as you know I can't and won't post 'em). But despite WBCN not getting Stern #s with O & A, you are right, they certainly are a better buy for advertisers than Lavid Dee Moth
