Though I like their show, bringing back O&A, to me, makes it looks like they're scrambling as to what to to over at 4th and Market ever since the flip and the firing. Attacking MMR for talking to much, yeeeet bringing in an all talk morning show. Stay hot, guys.

what if Greater media picked up the show and put it on 97.5 and flipped it to alternative with O&A in the mornings and music the rest of the day
the numbers to 97.5 are very low so something could happen

Yes, the O&A show will fit in quite well with that "classic rock" format someone "in the know" says will be retained on the station...

MISTAKE, MISTAKE, MISTAKE in my opinion.

Agree.

It's like cutting down a tree, rigging it back up so it stand up straight, and then cutting it down again. Just does not make sense. Now O&A on another station such as 104.5? Ok, maybe it could work.

I wish someone would just put these 2 childish idiots out of their misery. They had 2 chances and blew them both.

they are funnier than Joe Conklin, though so is a kick in the nuts

If WYSP decides to bring back O and A, they mind as well turn off the station for good. local music show on morning drive on WYSP is the proper thing to do for good.

We had that, and they got rid of that as well... they have no idea what they are doing over there....

Strike 1, strike 2, strike 3, your out...for a few months, then you get strike 4, strike 5, strike 6...and if you are Barsky, strike 7, strike 8 etc... Philly morning shows never die, they just become recycled and irrelevant, with a few exceptions!

Why would GM take 97.5 alt rock when Clear Channel beat them to it on 104.5?

104.5 is mostly 90s alt rock. I think the idea was to flip 97.5 to current alt rock. For all the rock stations in Philadelphia, there isn't one devoted entierely or even mostly to currents (other than 88.5 HD2).

Though that would put a classic rocker, a mainstream rocker and an alternative rocker in the same cluster. Too much overlap? And, I don't think O&A, at their current age, fit as the morning show on a current rock station anymore. GM is not going to put O&A on to compete with P&S, either.

This is assuming that, contractually, GM is even allowed to air O&A in Philly. I'd bet that O&A's contract with CBS prohibits them from airing on non-CBS stations in markets where CBS owns stations.

i think 97.5 was going to flip the same day radio 104.5 signed on or at least that is what was being talked about

Personally, I think GM bought JJZ some time with the rebranding from Smooth Jazz to Smooth AC. When JJZ goes bye bye, it will NOT be to Alt.Rock. I see them either going after B101 or WOGL. Mabye to move the classic rock to 97.5 and relaunch "Magic 102.9". Again, one man's opinion.
